| Prior to an
extensive retrofit programme with a major aerospace sub-contractor. A-Tec
Systems embarked on a design program for the production of a series
of post-processors to ensure a seamless changeover to new CNC control
systems. The one system
had to support 12 machines and permit others to be added at a later date.
A-Tec Systems developed a package whereby all machine variants
could be supported from single database. Furthermore the system was left
"open"
to enable the users to further develop the system output and add further
machines without recourse back the designer. The resulting product has
now proven popular with other sectors of the aerospace industry. The
post-processor is based upon the successful
ReadRight CNC program editor. The editor
ensures that there is a visual representation of the mapping from input
file to output to provide speedy debugging of any problem area..
As a further enhancement the editing system is now also capable of translating
programs from one
CNC manufacturers' format to another. |
